When it comes to moving, it can often feel like there are so many things going on, so much stress coming down on top of you, that it almost seems like it will never happen. We at Southwest Movers understand how nerve-wracking and dreadful it can be when it comes to moving; therefore, we have come up with a quick list of things you should complete before your actual moving day to make the whole activity move forward all the more comfortable.

Four Little Things

1. Get Rid of Some Things

You should go through your things and do a little investigation as to figuring out what you need, what you want, and what you can do without. From there, get rid of those things that you do not need to take with you. This will help reduce the number of things you are bringing with you and therefore lower the amount of packing and unpacking you will have to do.

2. What are Your Moving Needs?

When it comes to moving, you not only need to know what you are taking with you but what do you need to make sure those things are adequately and safely relocated to their new home. Ask yourself “What is fragile? What is oversized? Outside playground equipment, etc.”, from there find out what would be needed to make sure these things are safe for travel.

3. Book in Advance

Remember, people are moving every day, and with that, movers are booked in advance all of the time. Make sure you are not waiting to the last minute to schedule a mover to help in your change of scenery.

4. Gather Up Your Important Documents

You want to make sure that you have any and all-important documents stored and ready to move. You want to do this in advance of the actual moving day as all of the running around and moving of things may lead you to forgetting, losing, or damaging some of them.

Southwest Movers

At Southwest Movers we love helping people move. Also, if you are younger and not attached to an area, we highly recommend moving somewhere crazy and getting to know people somewhere new. But if you are looking at staying close to family or jobs, it doesn’t hurt to find smaller communities and increasing your commute. IF you have any questions at all, give us a call!
